Why You Want To Win The 5plus

I recently fished with the Einarsson 5plus reel on one of our local lakes after work. It was easy to feel the ultra-smooth drag pull as I stripped line off the reel to thread my rod’s guides. The sealed drag is assembled with the finest components from around the world. It was clear that the aesthetics and craftsmanship that goes into each reel is unsurpassed. The creative stylings of the reel were as pleasing as the functionality. Beautifully sleek with a touch of northern European flair, the 5plus’s ultra-hard anodization made it tough and luxurious.

The 5plus balanced my rod perfectly. It’s weight was such a perfect fit for my rod that I was enjoying casting so much that I forgot my original goal of testing this reel. The Brown trout that crushed my streamer in a swirling splash reminded me of why I was there. The fish immediately ran towards a large tree that had fallen into the lake. The fir tree stretched from the shore, disappearing under the lakes surface about twenty feet from the water’s edge. My rod bent almost in two as the heavy trout swam relentlessly towards the tangle of limbs that were undoubtedly under the water. This powerful, steady run was testing the Einarsson drag to its fullest.

The head of a large Brown trout

The Einarsson Plus Fly Reel is a gem to use for large Brown trout and any other species in saltwater or fresh.

The space age carbon discs that were compressed even more as I tightened the drag knob ever so slightly slowed the fish’s run with absolutely no jerking or grabbing. Tightening the drag was simple with the large knob. Ultimately, the reel performed as I had envisioned the first time I took it out of the box.

Einarsson Plus Series fly reels come in four colors: black, bronze, clear and red. There are five sizes to cover all species of freshwater and saltwater fish: 3plus, 5plus, 7plus, 8plus and the 9plus. After landing several more trout I headed home thinking about what I would write about these reels. Then I realized that I could sum the Einarsson Plus reel up in three words: dependable, rugged and hand-crafted. This Einarsson Plus Series fly reels is perfect for the fly fisherman who desires the finest fully machined reel available with a fully sealed, no maintenance drag.
The Einarsson Plus is so loved at Stillwater Fly Shop that we convinced Einarsson to partner with us in our latest giveaway. Together we decided that the prize would be a 5plus because this special reel can be used in many different environments for many different species.

Yes they are…very capable. We just had one tested for three weeks at Andros Island and the tester and his guides raved about it.
